About Me
Designations - GRI, ABR
To earn a designation, a REALTOR® a real estate agent has taken coursework and demonstrated specific skills, performance and knowledge in a particular area of the real estate industry. I have earned by GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) and ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative).
I am also a proud member of the RE/MAX HALL OF FAME!
I have been a full-time RE/MAX REALTOR® since 1998!
My Background
I am a third-generation REALTOR®, and a Louisville native. I lived in Lexington, Kentucky, for 20 years, and returned to Louisville 12 years ago. I love everything about Louisville—its diversity, its natural and architectural beauty, its large-city benefits with a small-town ambience—and selling real estate gives me daily opportunities to pass on my enthusiasm for our city!
I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky. I spent 15 years as business manager for Airdrie Stud, a large thoroughbred horse farm in Midway, Kentucky. I have a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and was in private practice as a therapist before going into real estate. People buying houses are more fun than people coming to therapy!
Family
I am married to Tony Ayer, a UPS pilot; we went to Westport High School together! My daughter Amanda was a Rockette performing at Radio City Music Hall for 11 years, and she lives in New York City (she is a graduate of YPAS - the Youth Performing Arts School - here in Louisville). Tony and I raise 6 fat backyard chickens - we have plenty of fresh eggs!
Renau Foundation
I am president of the Renau Foundation, a non-profit organization which provides funding for humanitarian charities, funds a college scholarship, and supports animal charities. The Renau Foundation is a huge supporter of Habitat for Humanity of Louisville. We also partner with Louisville Magazine in offering college scholarships; the magazine runs a writing contest for area high school seniors, and the scholarship is the prize. The Foundations was established by Ken Renau, a friend and former client of mine who passed away in 2009. For more information, go here.
